New Years Resolutions and why don't they work...

Have you set any goals for yourself this year, and if so, what are they? Have you been successful in the past with your New Year's resolutions?

While we all have great intentions with the new year, many people don't actually follow through with their ambitious goals of self-improvement. But how often do people actually follow through?

According to Forbes, only 25% follow-through after the first 30 days of the year. Whereas an astonishing 8% accomplish them...

These numbers, although low, aren't very shocking, and here's why...

Here we give you the top three reasons people have a hard time completing their goals New Years goals:

3. Giving up too easily: Many people get discouraged or don't set up an accountability system to make sure that they are on track. Life hits HARD after the holidays and many people find it difficult to get back to their routines, let alone adding their ambitious new routines.

2. Having lofty goals: Often people want to achieve these grand things without taking into account where they are at, what they CAN do, and what they NEED to do... This further pushes people to give up, maybe they are able to get back to a routine and add a few things in, but their goals are just too big to make work with the time they have.

1. Going at it alone: Any person without accountability and support won't make it very far. Behind every successful person, is a great support system! Having support is huge in setting goals that are specific to your needs, your abilities, and personal goals!

Saying you want to burn fat but ending up in a generic muscle building program won't get you to where you want to be. Similarly, if you have goals for pregnancy weight gain/postpartum loss and nutritional health but you don't have anyone in your life that is able to work with you, how far will you actually get in achieving these goals?

We want to invite you to take a step back at your goals and really evaluate where YOU are in life and WHERE YOU WANT TO BE! What do you need to get to these goals? Who do you need to become? And what help do you need to get to become this person?

If you feel like you may need some extra support from maternal health and breastfeeding specialists, we would love to have a conversation with you to evaluate your goals, see what you need to achieve them, and if we would be a good team!

Until next time! Coaches Cassie and Mikayla
