November is Diabetes Awareness Month
Updated: Nov 13, 2019

This November, we are nationally recognizing and bringing awareness to the diabetes diagnosis. Approximately 9.4% of the United States population has diabetes while specifically, 1.25 million American children and adults have type 1 diabetes. Further, 1 in 7 births are affected by gestational diabetes each year!
If not treated properly, Gestational Diabetes can develop into type 2 diabetes post partum. Find out more about Gestational Diabetes here with our blog post that digs DEEP into the diagnosis.
Why is it important to learn more about this Gestational Diabetes? Because if not treated properly, it could not only effect your health, but your baby's prenatal and postnatal development.
Diabetes (of all TYPES) is a serious diagnosis that should not be taken lightly. It can become life altering because those with the diagnosis have to manage their blood glucose levels each and every day-- at ALL times of the day!
Diabetes of ANY KIND is A LOT of work and can easily become overwhelming to someone who is without a good support system -- this includes nutritional expertise and coaching.
If there is someone in your life that is affected by diabetes -- make sure to give them extra love this month (and every month)-- they DESERVE it!
If you want to learn how to prevent or treat gestational diabetes AND have DECIDED to pursue individualized maternal nutrition coaching-- click here and fill out our application to get in touch with us today!
Until next time!
