Four Ways to Stay Active When You're Stuck at Home
We are all feeling a bit pent up...
Whether you are now working from home, you are a stay at home wife/mama, on maternity leave, or all of the above, we could all use some exercise!
It can be tricky when it seems like all options have gone out the window and you're locked in -- literally!
We wanted to give our mamas some tips and tricks to be able to stay active and SANE while spending so much time at home...
1) Go on a walk/run outside -- away from people.
This is perfect because as humans we need connection with nature, we can't just stay in the house all day, at least not all day EVERY day. You can walk around the neighborhood or even go to a park or hiking trail.
The cool thing about these areas is that there are very few surfaces that you and others passing through touch--- because, well you know, nature.
2) YOGA! We love yoga!
Especially for our prenatal mamas, it's SO GOOD! Plus, you can find so many free videos online with YouTube, specifically for prenatal yoga. No equipment needed, just you and a mat girl, we could go all day!
But, if yoga doesn't tickle your fancy, YouTube has a plethora of all kinds of workout videos, again for FREE! You can do any sort of no/minimal equipment workouts as you want. Try a new type each day even! You will also be able to find many pregnancy-safe workouts too which is why we love YouTube!
3) A less conventional approach, if you don't like regular working out or a class type setting, get to some yard work and housework.
You know that project you've been wanting to do for months but 'haven't found the time'? Yeah, that one...
This is the perfect time to do a deep clean, plant a garden, paint the baby's room! Because girl, we know you haven't started that yet! These all take work and effort and you should give yourself some credit for getting it all done. You are a super Mama already!
