The fairness for breastfeeding mothers act

Updated: Sep 29, 2019

Great news Mamas! The US state Senate as well as the House of representative has passed a new bill that helps to protect and encourage breastfeeding in more public places!

What the bill states:

Select public buildings that have a public restroom will now be required to have a separate place to breastfeed that is NOT a public restroom.

What does this mean for you?

This means that mothers nationally will be able to find public breastfeeding rooms that aren't unsanitary public restrooms. No sitting over toilets or getting dirty glares out in public. While women are protected to breastfeed where they want in public, it is nice to have a calm and quiet place when you are out on the go without completely throwing a wrench in your day!

When will it come into effect?

As of right now, this bill still has to be signed by the president and is awaiting his approval. Vetoing of this bill is unlikely and therefore this bill is almost law!

Until next time!
